Republic of Korea Privacy Notice

Effective: March 20, 2024

We’ve created this notice specifically for users in the Republic of Korea. Users in the Republic of Korea have certain privacy rights as specified under Republic of Korea law, including the Personal Information Protection Act. Our Privacy Principles and the privacy controls we offer to all users are in line with these laws—this notice makes sure we cover the Republic of Korea-specific requirements. Disclosure of Personal Information to Third Parties

Certain third-party service providers as described here and/or Snap’s affiliates within the Snap Inc. family of companies may perform functions on behalf of Snap and may have access to your personal information as needed to perform those functions.
We may also share information about you with partners and creators we work with to add fun new features to Snapchat. For more information about information collected by third parties on our services, visit our Support Site. Please refer to each partner’s privacy policy for applicable retention periods.
Please note, we will not share personal information about you with third parties without your consent, unless otherwise permitted by law.

Procedures and Methods of Destruction of Personal Information

We’ll destroy your personal information when the time period you consented to has expired or when your personal information is rendered unnecessary for the purposes for which it was collected. As described in our Privacy Policy, if you ever decide to stop using Snapchat, you can just ask us to delete your account. We’ll also delete most of the information we’ve collected about you after you’ve been inactive for a while—but don’t worry, we’ll try to contact you first! When we destroy your data, we will take commercially reasonable and technically feasible measures to ensure the personal information is permanently destroyed.

International Data Transfers

Overseas Snap Inc. family of companies and service providers. To provide our services to you, we may collect your personal information from, transfer it to, and store and process it, with Snap Inc. family of companies, and certain third-party service providers to perform functions on behalf of Snap as described here, in the United States and other countries outside of where you live. Whenever we share information outside of where you live, we ensure that the transfer complies with your local law so that your personal information is adequately protected.
