Please read these Snapchat+ Gifting Terms (the “Snapchat+ Gifting Terms”) carefully. These Snapchat+ Gifting Terms form a legally binding contract between you and Snap and govern your purchase and gifting of a subscription to Snapchat+ (“Snapchat+ subscription”) to another Snapchat user. These Snapchat+ Gifting Terms incorporate by reference the Snapchat+ Subscription Terms and any other applicable terms, guidelines and policies. To the extent these Snapchat+ Gifting Terms conflict with any of the other terms, these Snapchat+ Gifting Terms will govern with respect to the gifting of Snapchat+ subscriptions. The ability to gift Snapchat+ subscriptions is part of Snap’s “Services” as defined in the Snap Terms of Service. 

We may provide you the ability to buy and gift a pre-paid Snapchat+ subscription to another Snapchat user through the Services (“Gift Subscription”). You can purchase a Gift Subscription through the Services, or via such other means that we may make available from time to time and any purchase will be governed by the payment terms set out in the Snapchat+ Subscription Terms. After you purchase a Gift Subscription, the recipient you have designated (“recipient”) will receive a notification through the Services that you have purchased a Gift Subscription for them, and give the recipient the option to redeem their Gift Subscription on the Services.

In summary: You may purchase pre-paid Snapchat+ subscriptions and gift them to other users of the Services subject to the terms below.

a. To receive and redeem a Gift Subscription, the recipient must have an existing Snapchat account and you must be connected with them as a Friend through the Services. Gift Subscriptions can be redeemed only through the Services by the recipient using their Snapchat account or via such other means that we may make available from time to time. The recipient’s use of Snapchat+ from a Gift Subscription is subject to compliance with the Snap Terms of Service and any other applicable terms, guidelines and policies. 

b. Once the recipient of a Gift Subscription redeems it, the recipient will not be billed for the duration of the Gift Subscription. The Gift Subscription will commence at the following times: (i) if the recipient already has a paid, active Snapchat+ subscription, upon the expiry of their current billing period unless they have an active Subscription Offer in which case the Gift Subscription will commence upon the expiry of the Subscription Offer instead; (ii) if the recipient does not have an active Snapchat+ subscription at the point of redemption, once they redeem the Gift Subscription; or (iii) if the recipient already has an active Gift Subscription, upon the expiry of the current Gift Subscription (subject to any restrictions set out in these Snapchat+ Subscription Gifting Terms).

c. Unlike other Snapchat+ subscriptions, Gift Subscriptions do not automatically renew unless the recipient: (i) chooses to renew by purchasing a paid Snapchat+ subscription in accordance with the Snapchat+ Subscription Terms; or (ii) had a paid active Snapchat+ subscription at the point of redemption of a Gift Subscription (irrespective of any live Subscription Offers applied to their account at that time) and has not cancelled their paid Snapchat+ subscription before expiry of all their redeemed Gift Subscriptions. If the recipient chooses to renew their Snapchat+ subscription after the expiration of the Gift Subscription or does not cancel their paid Snapchat+ subscription before the end of the Gift Subscription, they will be billed for their subscription in accordance with the Snapchat+ Subscription Terms once the Gift Subscription period ends. 

d. Recipients may only redeem one Gift Subscription at a time, regardless of the number of Gift Subscriptions they have received. The ability to redeem a Gift Subscription will expire after 7 years following the date on which it was gifted, after which it will no longer be available to the recipient and you will not be entitled to a refund if the Gift Subscription expires before it is redeemed. There are no service or dormancy fees.

In summary: Both you and the recipient of a Gift Subscription need a Snapchat account and you must be connected as Friends before purchase. If the recipient is part-way through an existing subscription to Snapchat+ or already has one or more unredeemed Gift Subscriptions, the commencement of your Gift Subscription will be subject to the timings set out above. Gift Subscriptions do not automatically renew once they expire unless the recipient had an active paid subscription to Snapchat+ at the time they redeemed your Gift Subscription. Unredeemed Gift Subscriptions will expire after 7 years after the date of gifting.

Gift Subscriptions may not be transferred, assigned, regifted or resold to any person or account, and may only be redeemed by the intended recipient. Gift Subscriptions are not refundable, transferable or redeemable for cash, unless otherwise required by applicable law. Any Gift Subscriptions that have been transferred, assigned, regifted or resold are subject to invalidation at Snap’s sole discretion. Any Gift Subscriptions that Snap believes in its sole discretion have been purchased or obtained fraudulently or through illegal means or for any fraudulent or illegal purposes will be subject to invalidation by Snap.

In summary: Gift Subscriptions can only be used by the initial recipient you designate during purchase and may not be resold or transferred to anyone else. There are certain situations where we may invalidate or cancel a Gift Subscription.
